Design thinking encourages an iterative approach to problem-solving, where failure is seen as a natural part of the process. By embracing failure as an opportunity to learn and improve, students develop resilience and adaptability, essential qualities for navigating an ever-changing world. In this course, you will explore design thinking and what it can look like in your classroom or school.

Syllabus:

  1. Understanding the six steps to the IDE Design Process (formulate, explore, ideate, sift, simulate, advocate)
  2. Engaging students in activities that require them to use design thinking
  3. Understanding the importance of efficacy in the classroom
  4. Designing authentic problems to build STE(A)M mindsets
  5. Developing structures to facilitate learning that pushes student thinking
